UPDATE: House Bill 1076 was killed in the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
House Bill 1076 would prohibit trans people from amending the sex on their birth certificates to reflect their identity. We oppose this bill because it would prohibit Transgender people from updating their birth certificate to reflect their identity and cause harm to a community that is already marginalized and discriminated against.
