UPDATE: Senate lawmakers passed House Bill 1110. The bill now moves to Gov. Noem's desk.

House Bill 1110 would ban abortions based on a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome. It woul dalso impose civil action against a physician who performs an abortion as well as the facility that the abortion was performed in.

We oppose House Bill 1110 because forced pregnancy threatens a person’s physical, mental, and emotional health, as well as the stability and wellbeing of their family. This bill is an attempt to push abortion access even further out of reach out of reach in a state with some of the heaviest abortion restrictions possible in this country.
