UPDATE: House lawmakers passed Senate Bill 174. The bill now moves to Gov. Noem's desk.

Senate Bill 174 would revise provisions related to the automatic removal of certain charges or convictions from a defendant's public record.

Senate Bill 174 would allow a class 1 misdemeanor to be removed from public records after ten years and a class 2 misdemeanor to be removed after three. We support Senate Bill 174.
