As the South Dakota Legislature returns to session in 2021, we know that our civil liberties and civil rights will again be under attack – particularly when it comes to bills that target the LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit community.
Year after year, issues that matter most to South Dakotans have been ignored as some legislators introduce and support bills that seem fixated on the incorrect notion that our friends and neighbors are not entitled to the same dignity and respect as others.
The Transformation Project, Equality South Dakota, and the ACLU of South Dakota’s commitment to ensuring that LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit South Dakotans can live openly without discrimination remains strong.
But we can’t do it alone. Our legislators need to hear from you, too.
Join us for our Virtual Activist Academy at 7 p.m. CT on January 6 for tips and tricks to help develop your skills as an advocate and activist. We’ll also share resources on how to influence our elected officials.
