Session Confessions

March 15, 2023 @ 7:00 pm
@ 9:00 pm

From defeating two bills that would have violated our First Amendment rights to stopping another two that would have gutted voting rights in South Dakota, we shared some pretty important victories with our community during the 2023 legislative session. But there were some major disappointments, too, namely the passing of the bill banning gender-affirming care for transgender youth.

But what really happened in Pierre? Let’s discuss!

Join Elliott Morehead and Garrett Satterly, two of the changemakers who worked tirelessly to advocate for these important issues, as they come together to talk about their time in Pierre (and what they did to drum up support at home) during Session Confessions, an evening of unfiltered conversation designed to give real answers to real questions about the highs and lows of session and, more importantly, what comes next.

We will also hear from Representative Erin Healy, who serves District 10 in the South Dakota State Legislature.

ACLU of South Dakota Advocacy Manager Samantha Chapman will moderate the discussion. You won’t want to miss it!

Snacks and beverages provided!
