Issues that matter most to South Dakotans are being ignored as some South Dakota legislators continue to attack the LGBTQ and Two Spirit community and erode their rights with bills that stoke fear and hatred amid discriminatory rhetoric.  

HB 1057 continues the streak of bills that would codify discrimination against transgender youth that the South Dakota Legislature has attempted to pass over the last five years.

Public input is a vital part of our democracy. The voice of the people must be able to be heard in a meaningful way, and taking that opportunity away from South Dakotans is a subversion of our entire democratic process.

We don’t have all the answers, but here are some straightforward definitions and suggestions for getting better acquainted with your peers.
