People often say “don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time” but what barriers exist for people who have completed their sentence and paid their debt to society?

They’ve done the time, now what?

Join us for a community conversation as we delve deep into the quality of life of formerly incarcerated people after they complete their sentence right here in Sioux Falls.

Moderated by Terry Liggins of The Hurdle Life Coach and Libby Skarin of the ACLU of South Dakota, this conversation - the first in a two-part series - will be a thought-provoking, challenging, and interactive discussion of the barriers people in re-entry face and will touch on topics such as accessible housing and voter suppression. Come with an open mind and ready to dig deep into mass incarceration and the long-term effects it has on individuals, families, and the entire community.

This event is free and open to the public.
